Collective Interchange

Support Locals

Strengthening communities by supporting people and opportunities across Newfoundland and Labrador

Economic Impact and Community Contribution

Collective Interchange, like other co-operatives, are locally anchored, member-owned enterprises. Our small but mighty enterprise has contributed to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are proud of these contributions (2020 – 2026):

$ Revenue · Value of Local Employment · Local Services · Program Participants · Partners · Community Initiatives

Co-operatives have been part of Canada’s economic and social fabric for over 150 years. They are not just community builders, they are nation builders. Collectively, the co-operative sector has delivered scalable solutions to some of Canada’s most urgent challenges.

In 2022, Canadian co-ops and mutuals generated $66.19 billion in total revenue, held $50.5 billion in total assets, employed 102,038 people, and paid $2.86 billion in salaries and wages.

Co-ops play a crucial role in supporting local economies by providing infrastructure, goods, and services to Canadians. They are accountable and inclusive, operating with a democratic decision-making structure and resilience.

They are active across all sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy, and support local economies by keeping money and jobs in the community.

Canadians believe in this model; identifying with the values behind co-operatives — economic participation, democratic governance, and community empowerment. Simply put, investing in co-operatives is investing in a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable province and country.
